Itinerary:
Day 1: Lima to Huaraz by bus
(8 hours), stay at hotel (Bus Cruz del Sur).
Reception Bus Terminal and transfer to the hotel in Huaraz.
Day 2: Huaraz - Caraz - Cashapampa (2900m) - Llamacorral (3760m).
We leave Huaraz early in the morning, by road to the trailhead at Cashapampa (2,900m). From there, donkeys will carry our gear. After 4 hours walking we'll have lunch in the shade of quenuales. We then continue to a flat meadow called Llamacorral at 3.760m and set camp.
Day 3: Llamacoral (3760m). - Alpamayo base camp –Taullipampa (4.250m.).
On this day the trek is easy, to the turquoise lakes of Jatuncochja. We‘ll have lunch close to the lakes, at a spot called Quisuar. We then ascend to the base camp of Alpamayo, which offers a spectacular view. The second camp is called Taullipampa (4.250m.).
Day 4: Taullipampa (4250m) – Punta Unión (4750m) - Paria Valley (3870m).
We leave camp after a good breakfast, towards Union Pass (4,750m.) following a zigzag trail. After 3 hours walking we reach the pass, and admire a beautiful view of the Cordillera Blanca with the summits of Taulliraju, los Rinrijircas, Pucahircas, Quitaraju, Santa Cruz, Artesonraju, Pirámide de Garcilazo, Paria, Millishraju, etc.
Day 5: Paria Valley (3870) - Vaquería (3850).
We walk along the valley with spectacular views of Chacraraju to the village of Vaquería, where private transportation will transfer us to Portachuelo Pass. This is a lookout point to the lakes of Chinancocha y Orconcocha as well as the summits of Huascarán, Chopicalqui, Chacraraju, the four summits of Huandoy y Pisco. After this impressive panorama, we continue by road to Yungay and back to Huaraz – Hostal.
Day 6: Rest day in Huaraz.
Day 7: Huaraz – Pashpa (3600m) – Cb Ishinca (4200m).
Leave Huaraz on private transportation to the village of Collón or Pashpa, where we meet the donkeys and arrieros that will help carry the climbing gear. Here is the starting point of the trek to base camp, which takes about 4-5 hours depending on the trekking pace. The base camp is found at 4.200m.
Day 8: Cb Ishinca (4200m) – Summit Urus (5495m) – Cb Ishinca.
Early start from base camp (3-4 am) to climb URUS (5.495m). From base camp we traverse rock bands and then enter the glacier, reaching the col and then the summit. Return to base camp.
Day 9: Cb Ishinca - Summit Ishinca ( 5530m) – Cb.
Early start from base camp to Ishinca Lake(4.900), at the end of Yanarajupampa valley. We climb a few ramps to a vast col between the two summits of Ishinca. Continuing the ascent, we reach the final slope that leads to the summit (5,530m).
Day 10: Cb Ishinca - C1 Tocllataju (5300m).
Cb Trek to camp 1 of Tocllaraju (approx. 6 hours). The last 2 hours of the climb are on the glacier and may require roping up.
Day 11: C1 Tocllataju (5300m) – Summit Tocllaraju (6.034m) – Cb.
Early start (2am) to the summit of Tocllaraju ( 6.034m), and return to camp Cb Ishinca . The round trip to the summit and back takes about 9-10 hours.
Day 12: Cb Ishinca - Pashpa - Huaraz – Hostal.
Descend from base camp to the village of Pashpa , where private transportation will transfer us back to Huaraz – hostal.
Day 13: Output Huaraz Lima
Pick up from hotel and transfer to Bus Terminal
End of service trekking climbing.
